Historical and apocalyptic literature in Slavonic tradition after 1453 (the fall of Constantinople) is a very interesting phenomenon because of the different interpolations interwoven with very early translations. Practically, basic Byzantine prototypes were preserved, together with аn accumulation of the memory of the past and with the assessment of actual events and processes. The newly-discovered MS 760, National Library of Serbia in Belgrade, from the first decade of the 16th century sheds new light on the text tradition of the Revelation of Methodius Patarensis.
